Betsy moved from southeastern North Carolina to Washington in 1971 to join the World Bank where she worked for almost 30 years. Upon retirement, she obtained her Master Gardener’s Certificate and volunteered at the US Botanic Garden, tending their vast orchid collection. She also became a Citizen Forester at Casey Trees. Betsy has chaired Trees for Georgetown for over 15 years. She has lived in Georgetown since 1976 and currently resides on N Street with her husband, Edward, and their two Jack Russell terriers, Picotee and Happy.
