CAG's Concerts in the Park 2013 will be another great season of toe-tapping, hand-clapping fun.   There are three great bands, plenty of family friendly activities and great snacks.  You won’t want to miss these concerts:

May 19 in Volta Park is Rockin’ Green in Volta Park!
Back for the fourth year running -- Georgetown's own amazing singer and song writer Rebecca McCabe will get the crowd swaying and singing with her lively acoustic, country, pop rhythms. We expect lots of audience participation this year.   As always budding Taylor Swift’s in the audience will be invited to participate in a sing along with Rebecca onstage.  And bring your dancing shoes for a possible dance contest!

As in years past, the theme of the May concert is Rocking Green! to remind us of the importance of protecting our environment.  To that end concert goers can participate in a park clean-up and planting project, book swap, face painting and more!  And while the music feeds our souls, there will be Sprinkles cupcakes, Hagen-Dazs ice cream and food trucks on hand to feed our appetites.  The May concert is being organized by Amy Kuhnert, Shannon Pryor, Tina Nadler, Ginny Poole, Jessica Heywood, Leslie Maysak and Jennie Reno.  Mark your calendars for 5:00pm  Sunday,  May 19!

June 16th Father's Day Reggae Fest in Volta Park
Calling all dad’s for a special Father’s Day celebration.  Dads and their families will enjoy chilling out to The Image Band’s Reggae sounds in Volta Park.  There will be games, prizes and other fun family activities for all ages, as well as sweet and savory snacks, starting at 5pm. The Father’s Day concert’s organizing committee: Elizabeth Miller, Christy Foushee, Jennie Reno, Kelly Doolan, Dorothy Williams, and Leila Bremmer have lots of fun surprises in store.

June 30th Independence Day Celebration and Patriotic Parade in Rose Park
Don your red, white and blue early for this rockin’ Independence Day celebration.  Concert attendees will enjoy the music of Max Impact – not your average military band --  performing Rock,  R & B and Country music favorites as well as some patriotic tunes and some original music!  Don’t forget to dress and decorate for the annual Patriotic Parade.  There will also be games and activities for all ages.  And bring your appetites for the sweet and savory snacks.  Concert organizers: Erika Donohue Michelle Korsmo, Robin Baker and Erin Mullan have more surprises in store.

Cool Kick-Off for the 2013 Hot Summer Concerts Series

Foggy but Fabulous Family Ice Skating Party Benefits CAG’s Summer Concerts

Concerts committee chair Hannah Isles and kick-off party chair Colman Riddell organized a fantastic fundraiser for the 11th season of the CAG Concerts in the Parks. On Sunday,  January 13, CAG and MRP Realty, which runs the Washington Harbour, and Tony and Joe’s hosted over 100 revelers for ice skating and an incredible spread that catered to both the young and young at heart.  Kids, parents, grandparents and penguins took to the ice and warmed up in the restaurant.  There were arts and crafts, a face painter and an elaborate prize drawing with donations from all over the neighborhood.

Concerts Committee members Jennie Reno and Tina Nadler organized the very popular drawings for prizes from local businesses -- and all the other Concerts Committee members outdid themselves.  MRP’s Shawn Kyle and Jenny DeMeo along with Dave Pera, Greg Casten and their team from Tony and Joe’s went above and beyond to give back to the community.  It is much appreciated.  Thank you to all of the local business who donated to the prize drawing.
